Where 7shifts is strong
7shifts is built for restaurants and nothing else, and it shows. The POS integrations let it pull sales data and project labor cost against revenue, which matters if you schedule to a labor budget. If you manage closely to a labor percentage, that depth is real.
It also offers restaurant-specific extras – tip pooling, task lists, engagement tracking – a wider suite than Schedio attempts. If you want one vendor for all of that, 7shifts is a fair choice.
Where Schedio is different
Schedio covers the working day, not the back office. One flat $49 a month per location with unlimited staff – no tier chart, no feature gates, no per-employee math when you add staff for summer. Hand-over notes between shifts are built in, not a separate log book: the out-of-stock list, the VIP at eight, the walk-in repair all carry from shift to shift on the same dashboard that shows who's on right now.
