Telegram shift notifications.

For a lot of floor teams the real ops channel is a Telegram group. Schedio posts there through a bot you own: urgent alerts when something needs a human, coverage-gap warnings before a window runs empty.

Today 14:00–16:00 has no one scheduled (short by 1). Northside Inn · Front Desk.

What lands in Telegram

  • Urgent alerts — when someone posts an alert at or above the severity threshold you set, it lands in the channel with the location and the text.
  • Coverage-gap warnings — when a scheduled window is running uncovered, the channel hears about it while there is still time to fill the shift.

That's the full list, on purpose. Schedules, swaps and digests stay in Schedio and email — the chat channel only speaks when the floor needs a human now.

Setting it up

  1. Create a bot with @BotFather in Telegram and copy the token.
  2. Add the bot to your team group and get the chat ID.
  3. Paste both into Schedio under Settings → Integrations and send a test.

The bot token is stored encrypted. Schedio never reads your group — the bot only posts.

Common questions

Why a bot instead of a phone number?+

A bot belongs to the team, not to anyone's SIM card. It keeps posting when people change phones, and you can revoke it in one tap from @BotFather if it ever needs to be rotated.

Can staff reply to the bot to manage shifts?+

No — the bot is one-way by design. Claims, swaps and approvals happen in Schedio itself, where they are permission-checked and logged.
