Retail employee scheduling

A store without a closer on the schedule is a store at risk of stock loss. A store with no one in the stockroom during a delivery is a store without product on shelves at 10 am. Schedio is retail employee scheduling software that keeps coverage visible to whoever is opening, mid-shift, or closing.

How a day runs

8:30 am, half an hour to open. Priya, the keyholder, checks the dashboard over coffee: the open crew of four all scheduled, Jordan on registers from 10, the stockroom covered from 9 because Saturday's truck comes at 9:15. Yesterday's closer left the note: the truck is early this week, two pallets of denim, the promo wall needs re-facing before noon.

At 1 pm the mid shift overlaps the open shift by an hour – that overlap is in the template, so the shift never changes over in a single minute. The hand-off note adds one line: a no-receipt return was escalated and the manager callback is due at 3.

At 4:40 pm the closer calls in sick. The shift goes to the open pool from the manager's phone; everyone who can close sees it right away; Sam claims it at 5:05 and the change is logged. Coverage does not depend on a note on the whiteboard – it's on the live dashboard the whole time.

What it solves

Open / mid / close

roles visible on the dashboard with the live person. Templates carry your real open/mid/close hours, so building next week means dropping a pattern, not retyping it.

Department coverage

which sections of the store are uncovered right now, computed against the staffing you said each department needs by hour.

Stockroom hand-off

what arrived, what's pending, what the closer needs to do. The note survives the shift change instead of staying on a sticky note.

Real-time alerts

a section that will run uncovered shows clearly on the dashboard ahead of time; connect Slack and it fires the moment the section actually runs short.

Roles included by default

Sales associate · Cashier · Stock associate · Floor lead · Stocker · Receiving associate · Store manager · Assistant manager. Configure department names once; templates pick them up. Seasonal hires import from a CSV in one batch – forty names, roles and shifts previewed row by row before anything lands.

Common questions

What does seasonal hiring do to the price?

Nothing. $49 a month per store covers unlimited team members, so staffing up for the holidays doesn't change the bill – and winding back down in January doesn't need a plan change either.

We have three stores. Can an associate move between them?

Yes. People belong to a store, and a manager can transfer someone – future shifts move with them. Owners see all stores on one account; store managers see their own.

Can associates swap shifts on their own?

They can offer a shift to the pool or propose a trade with a coworker from their own login. You choose whether swaps need manager approval before they take effect, and either way the change is logged with who, what and when.

How do open/mid/close templates work?

Define each pattern once – start, end, role. Build the week by dropping templates onto days, and copy a whole week forward when the schedule barely changes.

What we deliberately don't do

POS, inventory, loss-prevention analytics. Schedio runs the people part of the store – who opens, who closes, what the day shift owes the closer – and sits next to your POS, not inside it. One plan, $49 a month per store. The same setup runs hotel housekeeping and security posts for mixed portfolios.
